Database Software for Engineers
Microsoft Access: Microsoft Access is a database tool developed by Microsoft which is used for recording of information such as phone numbers, customer and product lists by providing a useful way to enter and arranging the data accordingly. Microsoft Access is an object-oriented database program because it uses tables to store the information and use relation to make relational queries. Its model is flat model because it composes of two-dimensional arrays of data elements which cover in row and column, whereby all the rows and columns are related with each other through relational process. It uses a query interface for data entering and report printing. Its features are providing faster and easier databases, creating more attractive themes for reports, giving easy access to tools and ease the complex expressions without writing the codes. For the theme of reports, they can be downloaded and accessed from the websites by Microsoft. The benefits of this programs for my future use is that, it will help me with the arranging the data for the construction’s materials with the costs as well as the customers and retailers which will have business with me.
Oracle Database: Oracle is a database programs developed by the Oracle Corporation. This database software is object-oriented based with similar property as relational database as well except that it uses objects to operate as data. For oracle, they use database schema to represent the object ownership from the defined group, mostly associated with “username”. The field used inside this database programs is Libary cache which is used to store shared SQL statements whereas the Data dictionary cache which is used to store sets of tables to represent the database’s structures. The features of this database are enhancing the storage of data into its main cloud server, improving performance by compressing the data into low-size files on for storage, reducing the data redundancy and protecting the data with high security. Similar to Microsoft Access, for designing and printing the reports, there are quite a whole lot of themes for use to pick from their online server. This program would prove to be useful for my future engineering career, because I will probably need it to arrange my sets of information and database with high security quality and it will be easier for me to manage my database orderly for engineering corporations.

Yeah! Microsoft access is a nice one. There are a lot of detail about it. Actually, engineers can get benefit from it like you said. ORACLE is also good. The explain is much clear for me. but is it dealing only with security?
ReplyDeleteOverall, this is a really good summary. You organized your idea very well with a great explanation of the programs. The database software that you are choosing is also great and relevant to your future career to a great extent. However, it would be better to see more of a review from this post so that it will help other fellows friend who might think of choosing the software to use in the future. Still, this is great as a whole!
ReplyDeleteSince you explain about two database software above, Microsoft Access and Oracle, personally which of these two databases do you prefer? Why do you prefer that database?
ReplyDeleteFor the Oracle Database, I am very interested in this one because Oracle has a good reputation with its security system just as you mention above as well. However, isn’t this program called Essbase? Or did the Oracle Corporation created more than one database software?
